The African Mango diet pill has been around since October 2010, and since then it’s gained a lot of hype! I decided to give it a try a while ago, and it’s working very well for me, I lost about 10-11lb in the first month without making any other changes!

I’ve read up and learnt a lot about it and wanted to pass that knowledge on. If you’re looking for an in-depth overview of this diet pill without the silly sales spam, read on…

How the African Mango diet pill works

The extract is taken from the seeds of the African Mango, a fruit commonly eaten throughout West Africa for general health benefits, energy, and to stave off hunger.

Lab research has proven these seed extracts have weight loss action by affecting two hormones in our bodies, leptin and adopenectin, and one enzyme, glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, (don’t ask me how to pronounce it!). I’ll go through each of these for you…

Leptin – this hormone is produced by your fat cells and plays a major role in controlling your energy intake and outtake. It is responsible for signalling to your brain when you’re full after eating.

African Mango extract increases its production, this means you’re brain is tricked into thinking you’ve got more food in your stomach than you actually do, reducing your appetite, so you’ll lose weight.

It’s also  been shown to help with improving circulation by slowing down ‘atherosclerosis’ (the build up of plaque in the blood vessels). It helps to cleanse your system, removing toxins. Research shows its linked to significant reductions in cholesterol as well.

Overweight or obese people often have built up a tolerance to leptin, making increased leptin production particularly effective at helping them lose weight.

Adiponectin - The African Mango diet pill also increases the production of this hormone. This will improve your gloucose and fat metabolism and slightly increase your cells’ sensitivity to insulin.

glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase – These pills decrease production of this enzyme, which improves the amount of starch and sugar that will get stored into body fat. Therefore, this supplement will help to reduce the amount of calories that get stored in your body.

African Mango extractClinical research

2005, University of Yaoundé Cameroon study  - They tested weight changes and also blood lipid levels in their overweight participants. 28 people took a gram of African Mango extract, three times a day, 12 had just a placebo.

The ones taking the extract lost 2.4% of their body weight, whereas the group that just took a placebo lost only .41% in the same time. The group taking the real deal also showed decreased cholesterol levels.

2009, Medical journal ‘Lipids Health & Disease’ – 102 participants were split into two groups. One were taking 150mg of the extract twice daily, the other was the placebo group. The group taking the extract lost 28 pounds, on average in 10 weeks, compared to less than 2 from the placebo group.

The group taking the extract also lost an average of 6.7 inches on their waist circumference, 18.4% body fat, and again, blood sugar and cholesterol levels were down in the group taking African Mango extract. Minor side effects were reported in both groups, mild headaches and sleeping issues.

I myself  was able to lose 11lb the first month I used it ,and 9lb the next! No other changes were made to my routine to achieve this.

What about the side effects?

Well if you want the showbiz answer, Ophra’s favourite doctor, Dr. Oz has publically backed the African Mango extract, and pointed out that there are no long term side effects, and only mild temporary ones for some people. To quote him, he called it a ‘miracle in your medicine cabinet that will help you lose 10 lbs’  (First for Women magazine, January 2, 2012).

My research of the African Mango diet pill reveals that a few people report mild headaches or sleeping issues for a few days when adjusting to the pills, then no side effects beyond that. I didn’t experience any myself.

Guurana seed - supposed appetite suppressant. limited effectiveness.

Chitosan (ingredient) - shellfish derivative, typical ingredient in pills that claim to block fat in food from adsorption.

Acai berries - both based on natural main ingredients. Well known for causing bad headaches, body aches and general discomfort. African Mango isn’t known to cause these issues? Ingredients - Contrasted with scarily long list from other diet pills: Green Tea extract, theanine, caffeine, chromium, theanine. ALL increase metabolic activity. Restrict caffeine from other sources after supper while using these pills.

150mg african mango extract - Well you know about this one now. As I explained in detail above, this is the main, natural ingredient in these pills, which alters your hormone levels to help you lose weight.

225mg Green tea leaf extract - Another natural ingredient. It has many benefits, including reducing your chances of getting cancer, and being an anti-oxidant. But the main benefits to weight loss are improved fat oxidation (involves breaking the fat molecules down into smaller ones for the body to use as energy) and increased metabolism (through something called ‘thermogenesis’, allowing more calories to be burnt)

135mg of EGCG – This is a powerful anti-oxidant which comes from green tea, so again, natural! It’s also been proven to treat various types of cancer.

Chromium 75mcg - This is a mineral that is improves the effectiveness of insulin, increases muscle mass slightly and helps decrease body fat.

200mg caffeine – This ingredient accounts for why some users experience sleep disturbances on these pills. Don’t drink coffee after supper if taking these pills and you should be fine, I didn’t have any issues with this. Aside from giving you more energy, caffeine has a mild effect on increasing the metabolism and is an appetite suppressant.

L-theanine - This is an amino acid that comes from tea plants. It’s here mainly to work against the stimulating effects of the included caffeine so you don’t get jittery. It creates alpha waves in the brain, which then produce a state of greater relaxation and focus. Overall, I felt more focused and motivated on African Mango Plus, without feeling jittery, so perhaps this combination is working!

Choose reputable supplier - there are scam African Mango pills out there already. Choose a reliable supplier like African Mango Pus.

Suitable for - most people over the age of 18.

Potentially not suitable for - pregnant or nursing women, those on other medication. as with so many things, these people should consult a physician before starting on African Mango plus.

Not a miracle cure - use with portion control, wise nutrition, and exercise to get great results.

Prescription Pills

Not neccessarily safer for being FDA controlled.

Phen-Fen - removed by FDA after being proven to cause irreversible heart valve defects.

Ephedra - banned since 2004 after heart related deaths. effective but deadly, so banned by Federal Drug Administration (FDA).

Herbal supplements/Natural Ingredients

Generally safer than synthetic ones because of natural ingredients, but don’t assume this without checking!

Not recommended for people with pre-existing conditions, many included, such as diabeties, while you can use AM while having? Diarrhea often caused by using acai berry with other medication. Worst side effect is allergy. Many allergic to pollen grains so cannot use. AM doesn’t contain such allergens?

Orlistat - only medication approved by the FDA for long-term use.

Rimonabant - banned for its side effects.

Cortisol reducing pills - Called ‘the stress hormone’, release is related to stressful encounters. but its relationship to the storage of fat hasn’t been confirmed with solid evidence.

Fat Blockers - Claim to block fat in food from absorption through molecular bindin, hence less calories added. some more effective than others, and some are dangerous, and typically don’t result in major weight loss.

Side Effects

No serious side effects - in fact, the vast majority of people reported no side effects at all. free of those side effects found in strong stimulants.

Main Reported Side Effects

Headache - often simply caused by not drinking enough water, sudden drops in calorie intake. body should adjust to lower intake quickly and they will pass.

Difficulty sleeping - due to the caffeine in it, although it doesn’t contain very much. tends to go away after a couple of days.

Stomach discomfort and intestinal gas - usually only for the first couple of days if at all as people get used to the supplement.

Dizziness - common physchological effect for many people on diets. no established direct link to AM.

Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers - not recommended without consulting GP first.

Dangers of a diet replacement - a few people have tried with this diet pill, and many others, to use as replacement for part of diet. Maintain healthy diet, as many, usually mild symptoms are reported for all diet pills because of dietary changes.

Consult doctor or nutitionist - best to consult before trying any medication, especially if you’ve had problems from dietary supplements in the past.

African Mango Plus

Alternatives - beware of imitations. some report buying poor quality products with counterfiet ingredients that don’t work and might be dangerous. AMP is confirmed to work and the most well known retailer of AMP. 100% genuine ingredients with no additives.

Dosage - one capsule twenty minutes before meals, twice daily, allows it time to reach the bloodstream and to help you as you eat.

100% money back guarantee.

3 bottles for the price of two.

Additional benefits - support for the immune and circulatory system, improved energy, regulated blood sugar. General health benefits.

Up to 10 pounds a month weight loss
